Although makeup brushes should be cleaned regularly, it’s tough to find the time to clean them. When I do get around to it though I do a deep clean to remove any bacteria or build up of makeup that has gathered on them.
Firstly, take a gentle shampoo, I like to use Johnson’s Baby Shampoo and place some in the palm of your hand.
Run the brush under a tap of running water and swirl the brush around the shampoo in the palm of your hand. Be careful not to get the ferrule (metallic part) of the brush wet as it will damage it and the brush hairs will fall out.
The makeup will darken the running water so until it runs clear, keep cleaning!
TIP: If you need to dry your brushes quickly, grab a towel and swirl the brush hairs around in a circular motion until the bristles are almost dry.
