Being a huge fan of the previous Urban Decay Naked collections I waited impatiently for August 6th to arrive when the new Naked Smoky Palette would launch in Ireland. I was so excited having seen images of it from US bloggers where it had been released a month earlier. Although they sold out pretty quickly in Debenhams I managed to nab one of the last ones that day!
It’s safe to say it is my favourite Naked Palette so far, as previously the Naked Basics was my favourite. It contains 12 colours, 9 are new and 3 are from previous palettes.
There are a variety of textures including satin, matte and metallic/shimmery included. Above is the entire palette and as you can see it is quite cool toned for a smoky palette but all the colours work beautifully together.
For the purpose of this post I swatched all 12 eyeshadows to show you the incredible pay off from each one.
From Left to Right we have:
‘High’ – a shimmery pink champagne tone
‘Dirtysweet’ – a sparkly gold
‘Radar’ – a metallic bronze
‘Armor’ – a metallic silver
‘Slanted’ – a blue toned metallic grey
‘Dagger’ – a charcoal blue/grey with a hint of shimmer
‘Black Market’ – a jet black with a slight shimmer
‘Smolder’ – A deep purple
‘Password’ – A matte grey with purple undertones
‘Whiskey’ – A rich matte chocolate brown
‘Combust’ – A soft matte pink
‘Thirteen’ – A light beige/creamy satin
The palette also includes a brand new double sided brush and a lookbook with 4 different ideas. The brush shown above has a pencil/smudge brush on one side and a a tapered crease brush on the other, perfect for any smoky look.
The palette costs €46 and is available in Ireland from Debenhams and online from Urban Decay.
So there it is, the Urban Decay Smoky Palette suitable for both day and night looks!
What do you all think of it, will you be picking it up?
Until next time,
